London Pediatrics is a multidisciplinary cooperative. Members of the team offer a range of expertise and strongly believe that collaborative care is needed to best serve the needs of children. The goal of the clinic is to efficiently assess the needs of the children seen and provide them, their families, and their primary care providers with recommendations in a timely manner.
None of the physicians on our team accept direct referrals or provide on-going pediatric care. They provide consultations with and recommendations back to referring physicians. Requests for on-going pediatric care will be declined.
To obtain services, whether they are from a physician or other specialty practitioner on the team, it is best to obtain a referral from a primary care provider with an OHIP Billing Number. If you do not have a family physician, referrals from licensed physicians working in a walk-in clinic are accepted. Upon receipt of a referral, the team will review the available information to determine which specialty is likely to be most appropriate to meet the needs of the child. Our office manager will then set up an appointment for initial contact. This may take the form of a telephone call, virtual meeting, or in person assessment.
Only the services of the physicians on the team are reimbursed by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Physician services are only available with a referral from a primary care provider with an OHIP Referral Number. We do not accept self-referrals.
Some of our providers will accept direct referrals. Fees for all other providers may be reimbursed privately, either by direct pay or through extended health benefits for those who have them. However, many extended healthcare benefit plans now require referral from a licensed practitioners.
If you are unable to obtain a referral, or have questions about payment, please contact the clinic directly for further information.
